Eyes are now on Lindsey Wixson, who has been chosen as Alexander McQueen’s new face for their 2011 spring/summer campaign. The 16 year old model is now considered as being fashion’s new icon at the moment for her distinctive beauty.
This Kansas girl actually became famous due to her unique features; she has full and pouty lips, big eyes, and gap teeth. Lately she signed with Marilyn Agency after being rejected by IMG Models in 2009. At New York Fashion Week, in 2009, she made her first season of shows and then appeared exclusively for Miu Miu and Prada at Milan Fashion Week in the fall of 2009, where Gabrielle Revere, a fashion photographer, captured her special beauty.
According to Revere, she was so unlike other girls. The photographer could even claim her as a star on the rise from her first met with Lindsey. And as Revere would have thought, the girl later appeared in campaigns of big labels like Versace, Miu Miu and Mulberry. She was shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot for Miu Miu spring/summer 2010 campaign, and became the face of Versace’s perfume, “Vanitas” which was shot by Craig McDean.
Another spring/summer 2011 campaign where Wixson also stars in is Mulberry’s “The Secret Garden”. And as Jill Stuart chose her, Wixson will also be the newest face for the Spring/Summer 2011 Beauty Campaign.
In Alexander McQueen spring/summer 2011 campaign ad, Wixson is featured wearing a bell-shaped sleeveless printed dress with a myriad of white and orange butterflies surrounding her. This is the first campaign made by Sarah Burton, who took over the Alexander McQueen’s house after the designer committed suicide last year. As Burton also designed the wedding dress of the royal bride, Kate Middleton recently, this will probably be a good chance for Wixson to create her path as the world’s top model.
