Sunglasses have always defeated trends for many years, and whoever wants to look trendy will look for this accessory. However, choosing the right shades is not only about trends or hottest styles. If you do not wear the right shape of shades on your face, the intended effect will be backfired. Follow these basic guidelines to find the most perfect shapes of shades for your face.
1. Round face
The basic characteristic of a round face is the same width and length of the entire side of face. Wide cheeks also give an overall circular appearance of the face. The opposite-shaped sunglasses should do the trick in balancing your face shape, like square-shaped shades.
2. Square face
If you have a square face, you would want to soften the lines of the face caused by the same width between the forehead, cheeks, and jaws. Therefore, the round or oval shaped sunglasses are the best for you.
3. Oval face
The owner of the oval face is the luckiest, since he or she can pick any shapes of sunglasses. You can experiment with various types of sunglasses, from oversized shades of Jackie O, to colorful rimless shield sunglasses.
4. Rectangular or long face
Rectangular or long face has the same width at the forehead and just below the cheekbones. It may have a high forehead or a narrow chin. To avoid bad proportion, opt for sunglasses with large square frames, and avoid small sunglasses.
5. Heart-shaped face
With a heart-shaped face, your forehead is the widest part of the face and you generally have a small pointed chin. Forget about sunglasses that sit tight against your cheeks or are too oversized. Cat-eyed frames are a good choice or aviators with rounded upper corners.
6. Triangular face
The triangular face is the opposite of heart-shaped; narrow cheekbones and temples, and dominating jaws. What you need is a pair of sunglasses that will balance out your face. Oversized oval frames are a good choice, as well as classic aviators that are not too small.
